What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error on every matter that it touches.
(2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe in one God, the Creator of the universe, the Sustainer of life and the Architect of mankind. He is one God, yet three persons. Although each is distinct in function, They are of the same essence. These Persons are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We call this union the Trinity. We accept by faith its truth because the concept is taught in Scripture.
(Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16-17; John 10:28-30)
We believe in Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, born of a virgin birth yet fully God and fully man. He died upon a literal cross, was buried, and physically rose from the dead three days later. He died to pay the penalty for sin, rose to prove that He is God, ascended to the right hand of God, and will return in power and glory.
(John 20:31; Rom. 5:8; Isaiah 7:14, Matt.1:23, Luke 1:35; Rev. 19:11; Mark 16:19)
We believe all people are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone are we saved. We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity and s fully God. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, baptizes, indwells, enlightens, and empowers believers for godly living and imparts spiritual gifts for the edification of the body of Christ. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are available today.
(Eph. 1:13-14, 2:8-10, 5:18; 1 Cor. 12:13; Gal. 5:22; John 3:16–19, 5:24; Rom. 3:23, 5:8–9; Titus 3:5)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of condemnation.
(John 5:28–29)
We believe Heaven and hell are a reality, and all people will spend eternity in one of these, based solely on their acceptance or rejection of Jesus.(Matt. 25:31-46; 2 Thess. 1:8-10)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Rom. 8:9, 1 Cor. 12:12–13, Gal. 3:26–28)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
(Rom. 8:13–14; 1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19–20; Eph. 4:30, 5:18)
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.
(Gen. 2:18–25)
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God’s command is that there be no sexual intimacy outside of or apart from marriage between a man and a woman.
(1 Cor. 6:18, 7:2–5; Heb. 13:4)
We believe that God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as either male or female in conformity with their biological sex. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
(Gen. 1:26-27)
